Manchester United have made a move for Real Madrid Brazilian midfielder, Casemiro in a deal which will cost around PS 60m from Real Madrid. According to reports, Manchester United will be willing to make Casemiro the club’s second-highest-paid player and are prepared to offer a five-year contract for the Madrid star. The midfielder’s current contract with Real Madrid ends in the summer of 2025, with United ready to give him a long-term contract through to the 2026/27 campaign. Casemiro knows United’s offer may well be his final major contract.
Real Madrid was linked with a move for Brazilian international Bruno Guimaraes from Newcastle United as a potential replacement for Casemiro; however, sources told ESPN Brasil that Newcastle United’s ownership has no intentions to sell the midfielder. The Red Devils are keen on signing the 30-year-old defensive midfielder on a four-year deal with a fifth-year option since a formal offer will probably be accepted by Madrid. Of course, if United can secure a deal on Real Madrid midfielder Casemiro, in that case, that will signal an end for the Manchester side’s pursuit of Barcelona midfielder Frenkie de Jong.
Real Madrid would be glad to sell Casemiro this summer. They have already begun their project to rebuild their midfield by signing Eduardo Camavinga last year and Aurelien Tchouameni this year. While manager Carlo Ancelotti regards Casemiro as the core piece, Aurelien Tchouamenis’s summer signing means Madrid is extremely well-stocked at the centre-midfield position. Over 500 professional matches have been played by Casemiro, including 63 for his native Brazil at the international level. He has won 18 significant awards in his prominent career, including five Champions League championships and the Copa America.
The Brazilian International joined Real Madrid way back in the winter transfer window of 2013, where he first played for Castilla at the age of 20. Casemiro is and will always be loved by the Real Madrid fans as he was supported and cheered every time he played for them. Since the player wanted to have new challenges in his career, he opted to go out and try it. Casemiro thinks he will be a good fit in the current United team, and his gameplay on the field will also help the Red Devils.
United will be pleased to get the Real Madrid midfielder on their team as his experience and style of gameplay should help them improve their ongoing status. United will be relieved as their one main problem in the midfield will be taken care of by Casemiro after the departure of the French international Pogba. Now it depends on how the deal is completed and when will the Red Devils be able to play him. In my opinion, United fans might want him to play in their next match against Liverpool.
