Can the Red Devils finish fourth?

Former Manchester United goalkeeper Schmeichel believes Manchester United will lead Arsenal to fourth in the Premier League this season. Tottenham is at a disadvantage in the top four following Saturday’s loss to Manchester United, and they are three points a game behind fourth-placed Arsenal after defeating Everton 5-0. After losing to Manchester United on January 22, West Ham finished fourth that weekend, Arsenal dropped points, and Tottenham lost to Chelsea. Like Manchester United, West Ham and Tottenham dropped points, and Arsenal stayed at home; Wolves, who beat Spurs, put them in contention for a place in the Champions League final, going from an exciting game of four to five Horse race.

Rivals Arsenal and North London don’t have European football so they will lay all their eggs in the first four pots, and just praying for Manchester United in fifth place doesn’t make the unthinkable. West Ham’s next game is on Sunday against Tottenham Hotspur at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium; this will also help us know the situation, and it won’t be easy. Saturday’s Arsenal match against the high-flying Aston Villa in Villa Park will test their skills, and a loss in the previous league match against Liverpool at the Emirates makes this match a must-win for Arsenal.

Red Devils, who are 20 points behind their local rivals and the league leaders Manchester City will hope that the other team competing for the fourth spot drops points in their upcoming matches. United can now peacefully focus on the Premier League, recently being knocked out from the UEFA Champions League. As only nine games to before the season ends, the race for the fourth spot becomes interesting.

After being knocked out of the UCL, the Red Devils are only playing in the English Premier League, in which they can try and get the best out of it. United has a good squad that can perform well under pressure, and the remaining games are all must-win for them. Their next game against Leicester will be a difficult test as Leicester City are not in their A form in this edition of the Premier League. At the 12 spot, Leicester is currently competing in the new UEFA tournament Europa Conference League, where they came over the French side Rennes to book a place in the quarters.

United still have to play Chelsea, Arsenal and Liverpool in the remaining Premier League games. The Red Devils have a strong squad that should challenge for the title, but it has become difficult for them due to their off-field matters. In the 5th spot, United must not drop points in the race for the fourth spot. City, Liverpool and Chelsea will occupy the top three places while the other four teams like Arsenal, United, West Ham United and Tottenham will have an intense battle for the fourth spot.
