Manchester United need to avoid defeat at home to Paris Saint-Germain on Wednesday night to confirm our place in the knockout stages of this season’s Champions League.
We were 2-1 winners in the French capital back in October, but defeat tonight would see PSG draw level on points with us heading into the final group game.
Our 3-2 win over Southampton at the weekend should have the team buoyed to put in a performance at Old Trafford midweek.
Here’s the team I think Ole Gunnar Solksjaer will send out versus PSG:
Goalkeeper: David de Gea
Dave is a doubt after picking up a knock in the weekend’s victory over Southampton, but I expect the Spaniard to be back between the sticks midweek, particularly as Ole doesn’t appear to trust Dean Henderson in the big game’s just yet.
Defence: Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Victor Lindelof, Harry Maguire, Alex Telles
The boss may be without Luke Shaw so I expect this to be the starting back four, particularly with Alex Telles getting a run out in the first team now. Eric Bailly is available for the first time since the international break.
Midfield: Scott McTominay, Fred, Paul Pogba; Bruno Fernandes
I expect Ole to cramp the centre of the park with Paul Pogba getting the nod over Donny van de Beek in a diamond formation. The French international should be joined by Fred, with Scott McTominay starting in front of the back four. Bruno Fernandes will support the attack in the number 10 role.
Attack: Edinson Cavani, Marcus Rashford
A brace from the bench at St Mary’s could have earned Edinson Cavani a start versus his former club. Marcus Rashford has scored in each of our past two games versus PSG, whilst Anthony Martial is only recent back from a knock.
Here’s how our team looks on paper:
