Manchester United picked up an important three points before going into the international break with a come-from-behind with at Everton on Saturday lunchtime.
The authorities handed us the short straw by giving us the 12:30 Saturday game having been over in Turkey in Champions League action on Wednesday.
Everton opened the scoring in the 19th minute when Bernard brought the ball down well inside the penalty area before his shot went through the legs of Aaron Wan-Bissaka and into David de Gea’s bottom corner.
We weren’t behind for long as some nice passing around the Everton box led to Luke Shaw’s cross picking out Bruno Fernandes to head home from eight yards. The Portuguese star wasn’t picked up by any of Carlo Ancelotti’s defence.
Seven minutes later and we were in front. This time Bruno’s cross from inside the penalty area missed the head of Marcus Rashford and went in off the inside of the far post.
Our third didn’t come until the fifth minute of stoppage time on a counter-attack. An unselfish Bruno Fernandes laid the ball off to substitute Edinson Cavani to score his first Manchester United goal from close range.
