Confirmed lineups: Man Utd vs RB Leipzig

Manchester United have the opportunity to go sole top of Group H with a victory at home to RB Leipzig in the Champions League tonight.

We were 2-1 winners away to Paris Saint-Germain last week, whilst the German Bundesliga leaders were 2-0 winners at home to Istanbul Basaksehir.

The two teams are confirmed as:

Manchester United

David de Gea; Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Victor Lindelof, Harry Maguire, Luke Shaw; Nemanja Matic, Fred, Paul Pogba, Donny van de Beek; Mason Greenwood, Anthony Martial

Substitutes: Dean Henderson, Timothy Fosu-Mensah, Teden Mengi, Brandon Williams, Scott McTominay, Juan Mata, Bruno Fernandes, Daniel James, Marcus Rashford, Odion Ighalo

Donny van de Beek makes his first Manchester United start in what appears to be a 4-4-2 diamond formation. The summer signing is joined by fellow central midfielders Nemanja Matic, Fred and Paul Pogba.

Bruno Fernandes and Marcus Rashford are notably given a rest after a hectic fixture list, whilst Anthony Martial is fresh and available, having been suspended domestically recently.

RB Leipzig

Peter Gulacsi; Marcel Halstenberg, Dayot Upamecano, Ibrahima Konate, Christopher Nkunku, Benjamin Henrichs, Kevin Kampl, Angelino; Dani Olmo, Yussuf Poulsen, Emil Forsberg,

Substitutes: Philipp Tschauner, Wili Orban, Marcel Sabitzer, Tyler Adams, Lazar Samardzic, Eric Martel, Joscha Wosz, Dennis Borkowski, Justin Kluivert, Hee-chan Hwang, Toni Martinez, Alexander Sorloth

RB Leipzig have six players absent through injury and coronavirus and it appears they’re lining up in a 3-4-3 formation.

Christopher Nkunku and Angelino could play the wingback roles tonight whilst Dani Olmo and Emil Forsberg support Yussuf Poulsen in attack.
