Manchester United kick off our 2020-21 Premier League campaign at home to Crystal Palace in under an hour’s time.
It’s not been the easiest of pre-seasons for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer with captain Harry Maguire getting in trouble in Cyprus and Mason Greenwood receiving criticism for his behavior in Iceland.
Three points are expected for us today but our record in recent games versus Roy Hodgson’s side haven’t been too great.
The two teams are confirmed as:
David de Gea; Timothy Fosu-Mensah, Victor Lindelof, Harry Maguire, Luke Shaw; Scott McTominay, Paul Pogba; Daniel James, Bruno Fernandes, Marcus Rashford; Anthony Martial
Substitutes: Dean Henderson, Eric Bailly, Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Fred, Donny van de Beek, Mason Greenwood, Odion Ighalo
David de Gea has won the battle to start our opening game between the sticks as Dean Henderson is only named among the substitutes. As is Aaron Wan-Bissaka, with Timothy Fosu-Mensah starting at right-back today.
Paul Pogba partners Scott McTominay in front of the back four as summer signing Donny van de Beek will have to come off the bench if he is to make his debut today.
Daniel James starts down the right wing in the only change to our usual front four.
Vicente Guaita; Joel Ward, Cheikhou Kouyate, Mamadou Sakho, Tyrick Mitchell; Andros Townsend, James McArthur, James McCarthy, Jeffrey Schlupp; Wilfried Zaha, Jordan Ayew
Substitutes: Wayne Hennessey, Martin Kelly, Ryan Inniss, Luka Milivojevic, Max Meyer, Eberechi Eze, Michy Batshuayi
Former United player Wilfried Zaha scored the only goal last weekend in Crystal Palace’s 1-0 win at home to Southampton. He partners Jordan Ayew up front at Old Trafford today.
Youngster Tyrick Mitchell is the left-back with Cheikhou Kouyate continuing at centre-back.
Luka Milivojevic, Max Meyer and Eberechi Eze are all among the substitutes for the visitors.
