Manchester United ran out comfortable 3-0 winners away to Championship side Derby County in the FA Cup on Thursday night.
Luke Shaw opened the scoring on 33 minutes before Odion Ighalo scored a goal in each half to safely progress to the quarter-finals. We will face Norwich City at Carrow Road in a fortnight’s time.
Derby fielded a number of fringe players and had five teenagers on the pitch at the start of the second half, alongside former United ace Wayne Rooney.
The former United and England captain forced two fine saves out of Sergio Romero from direct free kicks whilst the Argentine’s only other notable save came from Jack Marriott on the counter-attack at 0-3.
Luke Shaw’s opener, only his second for the club, came with a mishit effort into the ground that ricocheted off Jesse Lingard into the far corner.
The left-back then setup the second which required Odion Ighalo to show good strength before poking the ball into the corner, five minutes before half-time. The Nigerian striker scored his second 20 minutes time after picking up a pass from Juan Mata and smashing the ball into the roof of the net.
