Manchester United are waiting on the fitness of striker Anthony Martial ahead of our trip to Goodison Park to face Everton in the Premier League on Sunday.
The France international was absent during last night’s 5-0 thrashing of Club Brugge in the UEFA Europa League after picking up a thigh injury in training on Wednesday.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer admitted in his post-match press conference that we will not know the extent of the injury until the striker has undergone a scan later today.
Should Martial not be fit to start, the Norwegian manager confirmed that Odion Ighalo could start again after making his first Manchester United start on Thursday following his loan move in January. Solskjaer told MUTV:
“Odion has definitely shown what type of a striker he is. He will be ready for Sunday.”
Manchester United will definitely be without Marcus Rashford, Paul Pogba and Lee Grant for Sunday’s 14:00 kickoff due to injuries. Axel Tuanzebe and Timothy Fosu-Mensah may not be up to full match fitness either having only recently just returned to training, though neither would be expected to feature anyway.
We start the weekend in fifth place, three points behind Chelsea, who are at struggling Bournemouth on Saturday.
