Both Manchester United and Wolverhampton Wanderers failed to close the gap on Chelsea this weekend as we played out a 0-0 draw at Old Trafford on Saturday evening.
The match saw Portugal star Bruno Fernandes make his United debut following his big money move from Sporting Club of Portugal on Thursday.
Fernandes started the game and fired a 20-yard effort straight at fellow countryman Rui Patricio in the Wolves goal in the first half. The exciting attacking midfielder fired in more efforts than any other player during the 90 minutes.
David de Gea made a fine save to deny Raul Jimenez from close range in the second half whilst Mason Greenwood double deflected effort well saved by the opposition goalkeeper. Diogo Dalot headed wide late on.
The draw leaves us level on points with Saturday’s visitors to the Theatre of Dreams, both five points off the final Champions League spot. Our next Premier League game will be on Monday 17 February away to Chelsea after the mini winter break.
