Confirmed Lineups: Man Utd vs Liverpool

Manchester United will be looking to end Liverpool’s 17-game Premier League winning streak at Old Trafford this afternoon.

David de Gea has been deemed fit to start, whilst Aaron Wan-Bissaka has recovered from his illness to return to the starting lineup for United.

Liverpool have won each of their past three Premier League games by a single goal.

The two teams for this afternoon’s game are confirmed as:

Manchester United

David de Gea; Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Victor Lindelof, Harry Maguire, Axel Tuanzebe, Ashley Young; Andreas Pereira, Scott McTominay, Fred, Daniel James; Marcus Rashford

Substitutes: Sergio Romero, Marcos Rojo, Brandon Williams, James Garner, Juan Mata, Anthony Martial, Mason Greenwood

We could be playing a back five this afternoon. Aaron Wan-Bissaka will certainly be at right-back and Ashley Young is the only player capable of playing left-back. It looks as though Victor Lindelof, Harry Maguire and Axel Tuanzebe will play in a central three, though the latter could be pushed further forward to sit on Roberto Firmino.

Scott McTominay will be sitting in front of the defence, whilst Fred has been asked to play as the creative central midfielder in place of the injured Paul Pogba.

Daniel James and Marcus Rashford are our only goalscoring threats from open play in the starting lineup and offer us bags of pace on the counter-attack. Anthony Martial and Mason Greenwood are both among the substitutes.

Alisson; Trent Alexander-Arnold, Joel Matip, Virgil van Dijk, Andrew Robertson; Fabinho, Jordan Henderson, Georginio Wijnaldum; Divock Origi, Roberto Firmino, Sadio Mane

Substitutes: Adrian, Joe Gomez, Dejan Lovren, Naby Keita, James Milner, Adam Lallana, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain

Alisson returns for only his second Premier League game of the season following his injury picked up on the opening night versus Norwich City.

The only injury for issue is a big one as Mohamed Salah is out with a twisted ankle. Divock Origi will play down their right, up against Young.

Striker Roberto Firmino hasn’t scored in eight previous Premier League appearances against us.
