After a shock 2-1 defeat to Bristol City in the Carabao Cup last December, Jose Mourinho is likely going to take this game serious due to the fact that they are far from the League title – with 15 points behind leaders Manchester City.

The Red Devils have only managed to secure one victory in their last five matches and as a result, the players would be seeking to restore the pride of the club back by securing the three maximum points against the Championship side.

Major change in the side could be the return of Marouane Fellaini to the match day squad. The Belgian was expected to take longer to return from his injury but Mourinho has confirmed in his pre-match briefing that the 30-year old star would be available for selection but he is likely to start from the bench.

Summer signing Romeru Lukaku has also recovered from the head injury he suffered against Southampton but is likely to start from the bench.

While Ashley Young will be out of selection a due to suspension, key first team players including Chris Smalling, Antonio Valencia, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Eric Bailly and Michael Carrick are also out of selection due to injuries.

The good news is that team skipper Carrick has returned back to training ground after a long injury spell.

Argentina international goalkeeper Sergio Romero is expected to man the post in tonight’s encounter.

First choice goalie David de Gea will be expected to be given a rest due to the less competitiveness of the game.

In the absence of Valencia and Young, Italy international Matteo Darmian is expected to play from the right-back while Daley Blind slot in at the left-back position.

Former Benfica centre-back Victor Lindelof is expected to pair Marcos Rojo at the centre-back while Phil Jones starts from the bench.

Mourinho is expected to give some youngsters an opportunity to show their talent this night.

As a result, Both Axel Tuanzebe and Scott McTominay will be expected to partner Ander Herrera at the midfield in a 4-2-3-1 formation.

Out of favour Armenia attacking midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan should be expected at the right flank while Anthony Martial Starts from the left flank.

Here is how we expect Mourinho to line-up his men with Marcus Rashford leading the attack in the absence of Lukaku and Ibrahimovic.

Possible Line-up: Romero, Lindelof, Rojo, Blind, Darmian, Tuanzebe, McTominay, Herrera, Mkhitaryan, Martial and Rashford.
