Mourinho Targets £88m Rated Striker To Replace Zlatan Ibrahimovic – United Fans Will Like Him

Manchester United have earmarked Torino striker Andrea Belotti as a long term replacement for aging striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic in the summer according to the Metro.

The Italy international forward was a subject of transfer speculation to Premier League teams last summer, with the likes of Manchester United, Chelsea and Arsenal all linked to the forward.

Zlatan is aging and Jose Mourinho is already in search of a potential replacement. The 36-year old striker is currently sidelined again after suffering a setback in his recovery from knee injury.

Unlike last season in which Belotti scored 26 goals and assisted a further seven as the Turin side finished ninth in the league.

He has struggled for form this season. He has only managed to find the back of the net seven times in 16 matches for Torino this team.

Speaking to the press this week, Torino president Urbano Cairo insisted they will not sell the 24-year old for less and only the current market can dictates the price of their player.

“It’s the market that dictates the prices,” Torino’s president Urbano Cairo said this week.

“If Coutinho is sold for €160m then perhaps, if Belotti goes back to doing what he usually does, [his release clause] will be low.”

The 24-years old forward currently has an £88m (€100m) release clause in his contract.

Jose Mourinho brought in Romeru Lukaku to his side last summer for a fee around £75m and the  Belgian star has establish himself as first choice striker at Old Trafford.
