Inter Milan defender Milan Skriniar has revealed he is edging close to signing a fresh contract with the Italian club.
The central defender has been one of the best defenders in the Serie A since joining the Nerazzurri in 2017.
It’s no surprise to see some of the top clubs in Europe linked with a switch for the centre-half, with reports previously stating English Premier League giant Manchester United were interested in the Slovakia international defender.
But in a chat with Sky Sports Italia, the player said he is close to agreeing a deal extension with his club.
If the Italian giants do want to rub shoulders with top Italian and European football once again, it’s vital they keep hold of the important players such as Milan Skriniar.
In a chat with a popular television channel ahead of next Thursday’s game, Inter Milan Chief Giuseppe Marotta said the side is advanced in its negotiations with the hierarchy at Spanish La Liga giants Atletico Madrid for their centre-half Diego Godin.
The Uruguayan international star is keen to join InterMilan, Andrea Ranocchia, Miranda and Stefan de Vrij among Inter Milan’s backline options. Considering that, the supporters of the Italian outfit would have been their favourite side might cash in on their top defender in the summer window.
But Milan Skriniar looks content with football life at the Giuseppe Meazza Stadium and a fresh deal would make sure any fans would have to pay a remarkable fee to prise the footballer from the Milan-based side.
