DEAL ALMOST DONE: Man United lodge £100million plus BID to sign rival club attacker before Thursday deadline

Premier League giant Manchester United may now be in a solid position to complete the move of Christian Eriksen this January transfer window.

The Denmark international attacker is refusing to pen a new deal at North London club Tottenham right now, with his existing contract due to run out at the end of next campaign.

This will be a huge concern for Tottenham, with report from the British tabloid Sun stating the Red Devils were leading the race for the signature of Eriksen, particularly if manager Mauricio Pochettino swaps Spurs for Manchester later in the summer.

This might just be a dream double transfer raid on Spurs for United, and it seems like their major rivals La Liga side Real Madrid could now lose out of the running for the attacker.

As per Don Balon, Real Madrid are struggling to sell the 26-year-old’s £105million valuation and could try a swap deal involving James Rodriguez instead – a transfer that won’t be very appealing to Spurs.

This, however, will certainly not be too much of an issue for the red devils, who have spent so much money on big names like france international Paul Pogba, Belgium striker Romelu Lukaku and Chilean Alexis Sanchez recently.

The Dane could also be a perfect signing as a long-term replacement for Spain international forward Juan Mata and give the Red Devils some creativity in their team.

There are also reported interest from the likes of Chelsea, Liverpool, and Manchester City in the ex Ajax forward, but bookies recently had the red devils as the favourites in the Premier League to sign him.
