According to widespread report, Premier League giants Manchester United have allegedly been handed a massive boost in their speculated pursuit of FC Barcelona ace Ivan Rakitic.
The Croatia international midfielder has long been connected with the Red Devils recently, with his situation at the Catalan club looking extremely uncertain.
And as per a recent report from Don Balon, the Red Devils could be lucky as it looks like FC Barcelona could now clear him to leave as they work on signing a replacement.
Despite Serie A champions Juventus being leading the race to complete the signing of Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey, it seems the La Liga champions are also trying to sign him as midfield maestro Ivan Rakitic heads out of the Spanish club.
It remains to be known if the 30-year-old World cup star remains a major priority for Manchester United, but he’d without doubt be a major upgrade on players like Serbia international Nemanja Matic, Brazil star Fred and Spain midfielder Ander Herrera.
Ivan Rakitic has won all laurels there is to lift in football at club level and also played a major role in Croatia making last year’s FIFA World Cup final.
The midfield maestro’s release clause is reportedly fixed at €125million though one can imagine he could leave for a fewer amount than that.
The Premier League side has now won 6 games in 6 matches since Norwegian tactician and former club striker Ole Gunnar Solksjaer was appointed interim manager of the Manchester based club. A new boss is expected to be named at the end of the season.
