Deal Almost Agreed for rock solid defender to join Man United in January

According to reports, Premier League side Manchester United are allegedly in pole position to complete the signing of Dutch and Ajax central defender Matthijs de Ligt.

Matthijs de Ligt has been one of Eredivisie standout players and he has attracted numerous interest from top dig clubs across European, who are looking to strengthen their back line.

The La Liga giant have retained their interest in the teenager but they are yet to make a bid for the star.

As per Tuttosport, the Red Devils are front runners to land the Dutch player. Serie A champions Juventus have also been named as suitors for the 19-year-old but he will get more playing opportunities in England than in Italy.

The same report has suggested the Serie A champions have envisaged a bright future for him and they want to bring him in as part of their plan to assemble a formidable squad for seasons to come.

Giorgio Chiellini, Andrea Barzagli, Medhi Benatia and Leonardo Bonucci have all surpassed the best part of their playing career, with Juventus already looking to land replacement for them all.

Although Man United boss Jose Mourinho has a plethora of players in that position, he still need further reinforcement at the back as the Portuguese is not satisfied with the level of quality at his disposal.

The Red Devils were connected to quite a number of players last summer. However, De Ligt will right for former Chelsea and Real Madrid boss Jose Mourinho. The teenager is valued at about €50million as per reports.
