According to reports, Premier League giants Manchester United are allegedly chasing the move of Real Madrid centre-half Raphael Varane and have received major boost that he’s available for only £62million.
That’s as per Spanish publication Don Balon, who claim the side are more than ready to clear the France international defender to depart Santiago Bernabeu for the right transfer fee as they plan to make changes at the back this January.
Don Balon also quote other reports, that have suggested the Red Devils head coach Jose Mourinho will be handed about £100million to reinforce his backline this winter.
Rafael Varane seems an ideal addition for the club after his strong display down the seasons, having first made his major breakthrough at the Spanish side during Jose Mourinho’s time in charge.
Varane, 25’s form has taken a bit of a hit this term, however, though he’s not the only player.
Still, Don Balon claim Real Madrid want to make a major change in defence and that seems like being impressive news for Manchester United, who could sign a top player at the peak of his career who already has a lot of experience under his belt.
The defender has won the UEFA Champions League on four ocassions with Real Madrid, as well as this summer’s FIFA World Cup with France National football team, so could be important to help United finally get their hands on major trophy after their post-Sir Alex Ferguson extreme struggles.
The Red Devils are presently weak at the back and if they could sign a player of Rafael Varane’s calibre during the season it could do many wonders to change their league fortunes in the second stanza of the season.
