Breaking: Antonio Conte wants Jose Mourinho’s job at Man United; turn down Real Madrid offer

Italian tactician Antonio Conte had been favourite to take over from manager Julen Lopetegui at the La Liga club but the side instead appointed team B coach Santiago Solari

The former Italy National team manager Antonio Conte wants to replace Portuguese tactician Jose Mourinho at Old Trafford, it has been claimed.

The former Chelsea head coach had been favourite to replace the former Spain National team manager over Julen Lopetegui at Spanish side Real Madrid but the Champions League winners instead appointed Santiago Solari to take charge on a temporary basis.

Former Chelsea manager Antonio Conte could still be named Real Madrid manager permanently, but it has now been suggested that Real Madrid President Florentino Perez wants to bring the former Real Madrid boss Jose Mourinho back to the Spanish club.

As per Italian outlet Gazetta dell Sport , the Real Madrid Supremo views the former Porto boss as his top managerial transfer target.

Antonio Conte knows if Jose Mourinho goes then the managerial job at Manchester United will be available later in the summer, and with little-talented managers available he is also aware he will be a very strong contender for the role at Old Trafford. It is a thought that attracts the 49-year-old.

For now, Antonio Conte being without work could prove extremely costly for Premier League giants Chelsea.

It was claimed by several media sources on Tuesday that the West London club may now have to pay £7million to Antonio Conte.

As reported by The Times, the Times, the manager’s 2017 contract detail states he is entitled to his £9.5m weekly pay for a year, or until he gains new employment.
