Premier League giant Manchester United could face another sanction from UEFA after they arrived the match venue late and three persons invaded the pitch during their UEFA Champions League match against Serie A champions Juventus.
A week ago, the Red Devils were slapped with a 15,000 euros fine after the team arrived late for their home clash against la Liga heavyweight Valencia in the month of October.
UEFA rules stat that clubs must arrive match venue at least 75 minutes before the start of any encounter, and yesterday, Italian champions Juventus got to the stadium 65 minutes before the 8:00pm commencement, while Manchester United turned up at about 7:10pm.
Manchester United’s delay prompted head coach Jose Mourinho to drop off the team coach and walk to the Stadium, and report states that the Red Devils will now review their travel plans for future matches.
Meanwhile, Local Authorities, Greater Manchester Police, disclosed a fan was kept in their custody overnight after being arrested for invading the Old Trafford pitch.
A football supporter ran across the Old Trafford in the first fourty five minutes of the Group H tie, which Serie A champions Juventus won 1-0, with two (2) more fans making it onto the pitch after full-time.
Both field invaders after the game sought to get photos with former Manchester United attacker Cristiano Ronaldo, with one of the invaders succeeding despite being restrained by Stadium stewards.
Back in December 2014, Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur were fined 15,000 euros after three men invaded the pitch in their UEFA Europa League game against Partizan Belgrade.
