According to reports, Manchester United have been cleared to complete the switch of Fiorentina star Nikola Milenkovic as long as they are ready to pay over £40million for the defender’s signature.
Nikola, 21, is a massively impressive talent, having drawn reviews in the Serie A recently to show himself to be a major upgrade on Manchester United’s present defensive options.
This department has been a key area of weakness for Manchester United for some time, and the management must now make a decision if they want to meet the demands of Fiorentina for one of their most prized asset.
The Sun in their reports claim Milenkovic will cost about £40million, and it’s believed that Manchester United are not very sure right now about paying quite that much of transfer fee.
The report also connect Serie A champions Juventus with the Serbia international defender, but wide spread reports suggests Manchester United are extremely hopeful they can have the upper hand in the deal by asking their midfielder Nemanja Matic to help persuade his fellow National teammate to choose Old Trafford rather than other suitors.
Whether the Red Devils sign Milenkovic or not this Winter, most fans feel a new defender is a must for Jose Mourinho’s team if they are to finish the season in a respectable position.
Manchester United are on a run of only one win in six matches and will certainly need to invest meaningful cash if they are to stand any opportunity of making the Premier league top four by the end of the current campaign.
