Matteo Darmian have been told he can leave the club once the right offer comes. The Italian who joined Man utd in 2015 was signed by former united coach Louis Van Gal. The rightback with 85 apps for the club for the past 3 season has been playing second fiddle to Antonio Valencia who is Mourinho’s preferred choice.
According to Goal.com, the 28 years old has been heavily linked to Italian sides – Juventus, AC Milan and recently Napoli.
But Mourinho has this to say about the player who captained United in ther pre season match at his former side AC Milan. The portuguese insists the club will be demanding a fair price.
“[Darmian, he is a fantastic guy in my two years and with Mr [Louis] van Gaal before me,” he told reporters.
“He is the kind of guy who is always ready to give what he has, he grew up in AC Milan and to play against his child club and be captain in a friendly has a nice meaning.
“Matteo wants to leave and I think when a player wants to leave, if the right offer arrives you have to try to be human and let the player follow his instinct but not at any price. And, until now, the offers we got for Matteo are not even close to being accepted.”
