Italian ball playing sweeper defender to United

Manchester United is on the verge of adding experience to their back four with an imminent move for the Italian rock man Leonardo Bonucci.

A fee around £30m is set to be on the cards for the experienced AC Milan centre- back.  Regarded as one the best in his position, the move would add experience to United’s current back line.

The 31 years old move could prove to be sensational if his impressive defensive stats can be replicated in the English Premier League. With an ability to distribute the ball from the back, the Italian hard man recorded an impressive 86 per cent pass accuracy in the Italian Serie A last season showing 7.7 long balls per game.

Jose Mourinho would be provided with a solid option at the back if this move falls through. To avoid last season crisis as Eric Bailly was out injured at critical time in the season, the Portuguese would be willing to add new and experienced defender to his pack.

The move has been heightened with the current challenges faced with AC Milan and it is expected that the deal might fall through provided United matches the club valuation of the center back.

United will be looking forward to clinch the English premier league crown in the 2018/2019 season after finishing behind City rivals last season.
