Mata Ousted, Rashford & Lingard To Start: Manchester United vs Sevilla Possible Line-up

Manchester United will welcome Spanish club Sevilla to Old Trafford this night for the second leg of the UEFA Champions League knock out game.

The Red Devils had a goalless draw against the La Liga club at Spain during the first leg but will however be keen on winning tonight’s game as they seek to make the last eight of the competition for the first time since 2013/2014 season.

United have been on a fine run-of-form in the domestic league in the last few weeks. They have won their last three games, beating Chelsea by 2-1, defeated Crystal Palace by 3-2 and Liverpool by 2-0.

During the first leg fixture at Seville, Spain shot stopper David de Gea was the hero of the game, putting on sublime performances. The 27-year old goalie is certain to retain his position at the post in tonight’s game.

Eric Bailly made his first start for United this year in a 2-0 victory over Liverpool. The Ivorian superb performance was great and he is expected to pair Chris Smalling in the centre of defence.

Antonio Valencia and Ashley Young are favourite to play from the right and left back respectively.

Academy graduate Scott McTominay has proven to a big game player for United. The youngster will likely partner Nemanja Matic in the central midfield in the absent of Paul Pogba, who is a doubt due to injury.

Mata started United league game against Liverpool over the weekend. However, the Spaniard could start from the bench in tonight’s encounter while Jesse Lingard replaces him in the number ten position.

Jose Mourinho confirms during the pre-match briefing that French star Anthony Martial is back to fitness and would be available for selection tonight.

However, I don’t expect Mourinho to start him.

Marcus Rashford made his first start for United this year against Liverpool over the weekend and scored both goals for united.

Mourinho is likely to reward his effort by starting him in the left flank while Chilean star Alexis Sanchez plays from his favourite left wing.

Romelu Lukaku is indisputable in the attack at the moment. The Belgium international is likely to lead the attack against the Sevilla tonight.
