If rumours making the rounds is anything to go by, then Manchester United shot stopper David de Gea could become Real Madrid player next season.
De Gea has reportedly reached a verbal agreement with Madrid for a switch to Bernabeu next summer according to Spanish journalist Eduardo Inda.
The La Liga giants are currently in hunt of a more reliable goalie that will replace Keylor Navas at the end of the season.
Madrid have long been an admirer of de Gea. They were close to signing him on summer deadline day in 2015 but an error in fax machine stopped the move from going through.
However, the Red Devils are reluctant to allow the Spaniard leave Manchester anytime soon as he is highly rated.
United are making plans to offer the Spain internato0nal a new contract with a higher package.
The former Atletico Madrid goalie current contract runs out at the end of the season, with an option for a further year.
Inda reveals a deal has been agreed on between de Gea and Madrid as reported by the Express.
“There is a verbal agreement with the player”. Said Inda.
“He has polled United and we are talking about 120 million pounds sterling, 135 million euros.
“The agreement with the player is total. Madrid is not going to pay that amount for him.”
However, Jose Mourinho is reluctant to lose the £210,000-a-week star and hopes their £120 million valuation is enough to see Madrid turn to other targets such as Chelsea’s Thibaut Courtois.
