Italy international midfielder Jorginho has emerged as a prime target for Manchester United as they seek to strengthen their squad.
According to report from the Rai Sport as reported by the Sun, Jorginho representatives have arrived Manchester for transfer talks with Manchester United about a possible switch to Old Trafford.
The Brazil-born midfielder joined Napoli from Hellas Verona for 9.5million euros in 2014 and has since gone on to make over 100 appearances for the Serie A side.
Jose Mourinho is desperately keen on strengthening his midfield.
Team captain Michael Carrick is aging and could hang his boot for a managerial role at the end of the season.
Belgian midfielder Marouane Fellaini will be out of contract at the end of the season and has rejected new offers to extend his stay at Old Trafford.
Juan Mata on the other hand has less than a year left on his contract and the Red Devils are yet to sanction the one-year extension clause on his contract.
The former Chelsea player is currently wanted by top European teams including his former club Valencia.
However, a move for the Italian is more likely to take place in the summer after Mourinho reveals he is done with the winter window,
He said: “Tuanzebe goes on loan, nobody is leaving, nobody is coming. Our transfer market in the summer will be short.”
A pre-agreement contract could be signed for the deep-lying midfielder services should both parties agree on a deal.
