Manchester United have officially completed the signing of Arsenal goal poacher Alexis Sanchez.
A statement on the club websites reveals the Chile international has completed a move to Old Trafford, with Henrikh Mkhitaryan heading to Emirate stadium in a straight swap deal.
Manchester City were initially favourite to sign the former Barcelona star but United hijacked the deal.
According to Goal, the sensational forward signed a four-and-a-half contract with the Old Trafford faithful, which will see him earn a whooping £350,000-a-week wage.
Speaking to United official website, the South American star expressed his delight in signing for one of the biggest club in the world when he said:
“I am thrilled to be joining the biggest club in the world.
“I have spent three-and-a-half wonderful years at Arsenal and I bring with me very positive memories of that great club and its fans.
“The chance to play in this historic stadium and to work with Jose Mourinho was something I could not turn down.
“I am very proud to be the first Chilean player ever to play for United’s first team and I hope I can show our fans all around the world why the club wanted to bring me here.”
Sanchez’s experience, skills and prolific goal scoring abilities will definitely add more sparks to United attack.
