Report making the round claims that Manchester United have agreed to sanction the one-year extension clause in England star Luke Shaw contract with the club.
This report is according to Manchester Evening Standard, which claims that the England international is set to remain at Old Trafford for a further one year.
The former Southampton left-back contract was due to expire at the end of the season, but he is now set to remain with the club till 2019.
The talented star has failed to live of up to expectation since he joined United in 2014 in £30m deal. His playing time at the club has been limited with a continuous injury problem.
Although he has regained his fitness back this season, he has however fallen down the pecking order in Jose Mourinho’s starting squad.
The Portuguese tactician has continually deployed versatile winger Ashley Young in his left-back position and the 32-year old star has excelled.
Mourinho had been pushing for a for a new left-back all season with the likes of Danny Rose, Faouzi Ghoulam, Alex Sandro, Ryan Sessegnon and lately Celtic youngster Kieran Tierney all linked with a move to Old Trafford.
However, this move is likely going to cooled off Mourinho’s interest in bring in a new left-back this January.
