Zlatan’s replacement? Jose Mourinho hoping to sign 24-goal striker ahead of Real Madrid

According to The Mirror, Manchester United could be ready to hijack Real Madrid’s pursuit of Tottenham striker, Harry Kane who is reportedly the European champions’ number 1 target for next summer.

José Mourinho has complained about not spending enough, and getting Kane from Spurs will elevate our team into a team capable of sufficiently competing for the major trophies on offer, as the 24 year old England striker is one of the best players in world football.

Manchester United shelled out a whopping £75 million on signing Romelu Lukaku from Everton to ease the goalscoring burden on Zlatan Ibrahimovic but the 24 year old Belgian has struggled to live up to the initial levels he set at the beginning of the season.

Kane would cost upwards of £100 million, but is worth every penny as he has won The Premier League Top Goalscorer award for the past two years, and is on top of this season’s chart on 18 already.

Madrid are looking to sign Kane in a mammoth £150 million bid at the end of the season but the Englishman has stated his desire to break the league’s all time scoring record, currently held by Alan Shearer who netted 260 times.

Kane would be an expensive signing, but will definitely add stardust to our attack, but it is interesting to note whether Spurs would be willing to sell to a league rival.

He is on a modest £110k a week deal at north London, but the lure of bigger wages and more opportunities to win trophies may mean we are an attractive proposition to him. Real Madrid want Kane to replace Karim Benzema, who has struggled in front of goal in the past year, netting 14 times in the 2017 calendar year, compared to Kane who registered 56 strikes, the most by any player in Europe.

It would be interesting to see whether we would sign Kane, and if we do, he will elevate us to title favourites.
