Manchester United summer target Ross Barkley has completed his switch to Stamford Bridge on Friday.
This was made known by the Chelsea official website, revealing the 24-year old star has signed a five and a half year contract with the Blues.
The highly versatile midfielder capable of playing behind the striker, in a deeper midfield or in an advance wide position turned down a £35m move to Stamford Bridge last summer transfer deadline day.
The talented star will now wear the number 8 jersey previously worn by club legend Frank Lampard Brazilian star Oscar.
Speaking after signing the deal, Barkley expressed his delight in his new challenged when he said:
‘To be given a fresh start at a new club like Chelsea, it’s unbelievable for me. I’m looking forward to continuing where I left off at the end of last season and hoping to improve and add more goals to my game.’
The England star possesses a wealth of Premier League experience having made already over 150 EPL appearances.
Barkley has been out of action for about seven months now due to hamstring injury he suffered at the beginning of the season.
This news is likely not going to be a big blow to United given that they have die down interest in the midfielder this season.
