Swedish international, Samuel Brolin has revealed he was invited for trial at the Theatre of Dreams.
Football news today suggests the hunt for the goalkeeper could be a three-way transfer battle between Manchester United, Manchester City and Sunderland who are also interested in the wonderkid.
It is believed the 20-times Premier League champions have been keeping tabs on the Swedish goalkeeper for a while having sent scouts to watch the youngster and are ready to steal a march on rivals Manchester City and Sunderland as they see him as a long-term replacement for Spanish international, David de Gea who continues to be linked with European champions Real Madrid.
Swedish international, Samuel Brolin as quoted when asked about his trials at Premier League clubs, he said;
‘It was a year and a half since I was at Manchester City. I’ve been there twice. ‘Then I was at Sunderland, and then Manchester United last Easter.’ He also added,
‘It was good fun to be over there. ‘You could see how different the three clubs work and there are pros and cons with all three.
The 17-year-old plays for Swedish side, AIK Solna and has impressed in goal for the Stockholm side so far this term.
The 6ft5 has represented the Sweden national team at both U-16 and U-17 levels having amassed a total of nine appearances for both sides respectively.
He is known for his concentration, reflexes and saving close range shots.
