Reports making the rounds claim that Manchester United are in talks with Jose Mourinho for a contract extension at Old Trafford.
According to Sky Sports, the Red Devils have started negotiation with the former Chelsea manager to extend his contract with the club.
The Portuguese tactician joined United in May 2016 and signed a three year contract replacing Louis van Gaal
Since his arrival at Old Trafford at last season, the highly rated manager has won three titles including the UEFA Europa Cup, EFL Cup and the Community Shield.
Rumours earlier this week suggest the two times UEFA Champions League winner could depart Old Trafford at the end of the season with report linking him to Paris Saint German.
However, the 54-year old manager has rubbishes the rumours and dubbed it ‘garbage’ while revealing his desire to stay beyond the length of his current contract.
“They’re garbage. If you want to ask me directly if I see myself next season at Manchester United, then I say I see myself (here)” said Mourinho.
“My desire is to stay until the owners and board is happy my work.
“I am in the middle of my contract. If I am going to sign a new one of course depends on the club but my commitment with the club is total and I want to stay”
Mourinho’s team is currently second on the league table with 15 points behind league leaders Manchester City, and have progressed through to the knock-out stage of the UEFA Champions league
