Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has revealed he hasn’t received any offer from Manchester United for Mesut Ozil services.
The Germany international contract with the Gunners expires next summer and the 29-year old star is yet to put pen to paper for a new contract.
Jose Mourinho is reportedly willing to strengthen his squad in January and has figured out Ozil as the best player to do that.
The Portuguese tactician earlier worked with the Germany star at Real Madrid in 2013 and wants a reunion at Old Trafford in January.
Ozil is believed to be frustrated at life at Emirate stadium due to last of silver wares.
Since his arrival at Arsenal in 2013, the World Cup winner has only managed to won the FA Cup and the FA Community Shield with the Gunners and just last season, they failed to qualify for UEFA Champions League competition
Speaking in a press briefing earlier this week, Wenger insisted no offer has been received from United for Ozil signature but failed to tell if the midfield maestro will stay beyond this season.
“We have never been approached by Man United in any way, so I don’t see why that came up and who found that, that’s always something that’s been created.” Said Wenger as reported by Sky Sports
Asked about a new deal for Ozil, Wenger added:
“I don’t know how close but he will stay here until the end of the season for sure. The rest is open.”
Report also has it that Barcelona are also in the race to sign the highly creative midfield.
