Manchester United attacking midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan could exit Old Trafford in January having fallen out of favour in Jose Mourinho’s team.
Latest report in the English press claims that Inter Milan are interested in luring the unhappy star to San Siro when the transfer window reopens.
The Armenia international has fallen down the pecking order in Mourinho’s squad. The former Borussia Dortmund star has only managed to make one substitute appearance for United since the 1-0 loss to Chelsea in November.
News of the 28-year old unrest seems to have sparked interest from the Serie A club.
The Italian side are keen on strengthening their squad this January in a bid to challenge Juventus for the Serie A title.
Report has it that Mkhitaryan and his representative has demanded an emergency meeting with Mourinho to ascertain if he’s got a future with the Red Devils.
Should Mourinho be willing to allow Mkhitaryan leave Old Trafford in January, he could decide to negotiate a swap deal with Inter Milan which could see Ivan Perisic in the opposite direction.
The winger was a prime target for the Portuguese tactician last summer but the deal never materialized.
A swap deal between Perisic and Mkhitaryan could be favorable to both parties.
