Manchester United will face Bournemouth in tomorrow’s Premier League game and here are the injury update ahead of the encounter.
Argentina international defender Marcos Rojo is likely to miss tomorrow game due to injury suffered in United 2-1 defeat to Manchester City over the weekend.
The tough tackling defender had a nasty cut on his head just before half-time following a clash with David Silva.
Although he returned back to the pitch after being treated to finish the first half, he however didn’t return for the second half as he was replaced by summer signing Victor Lindelof.
Ahead of Bournemouth game, a statement on United official website reads”
“It remains to be seen whether he (Rojo) will be fit to face Bournemouth at Old Trafford in midweek”.
Another player who will certainly miss tomorrow’s encounter is Ivory Coast international defender Eric Bailly.
The 23-year old centre back was bill to return to action this December but report now has it that the powerful defender could be out for the remaining part of the year.
The defender is set to miss six to eight weeks of action after he aggravated his groin injury.
Bailly last game for United was 1-0 defeat at Chelsea on November 5.
Phil Jones is set to make his first appearance for United team since he suffered a knee injury during the last international break in mid-November.
The England international returned to the bench over the weekend in Manchester derby but couldn’t feature. With Rojo set to miss United next game, the England star will likely replace the Argentine in Jose Mourinho three man defence.
Team skipper Michael Carrick is still out of selection after undergoing a heart procedure.
Belgium international midfielder Marouane Fellaini will likely make a return to the match day squad after recovering from his injury spell.
He was tipped to feature for United over the weekend but Mourinho opted the midfielder out of his team selection.
