Contract rebel Marouane Fellaini is set to remain at Manchester United amid report linking him to top European teams.

The Belgium international will be out of contract next summer and is free to talk with other clubs when the winter transfer window reopens.

The 30-year old midfielder is highly rated and value by Jose Mourinho and he wants to see him remain at Old Trafford.

According to the Sun, Mourinho has held talk with the former Everton star and has convinced him to remain at Old Trafford. The Portuguese tactician has assured Fellaini of a more playing time should he decide to extend his stay.

It is reported the Red Devils have offered the powerful midfielder a two-year deal worth around £130,000-a-week to remain at Manchester.

The Belgian international was on fine form for United at the beginning of the season before he suffered a knee injury that  ruled him out for weeks.

Fellaini had registered four goals and one assist in 12 appearances for United before his injury occured.

Mourinho is unwilling to lose an influential player like Fellaini but rather want to strengthen his squad in January.

Top European team including Paris Saint-Germain and Turkish club Besiktas are all monitoring the Belgian situation at United and would sanction a move for his signature should he decides to Exit Old Trafford.

The powerful box-to-box midfielder could be up for selection in Manchester United vs Bournemouth game tomorrow after recovering from his injury.
