Out of favour England international left-back Luke Shaw has demanded a £5miilion pay off to leave Manchester United in January accord to Daily Mail.
The former Southampton defender joined the Red Devils in 2014 for a fee around £30million under Luis van Gaal reign.
Since the appointment of Jose Mourinho as United boss last season, the England international has failed to cement a starting spot in United team.
Aside from injury that has hindered his playing chances, Mourinho seems not to like the defender as he hardly give the star a chance even when he is fit.
The former Chelsea manager has often openly criticized the left-back by questioning his professionalism and attitude.
It is widely believed United will offload the 22-year old star in January but his weekly wages of his wages of £130,000-a-week, around £7m-a-year, would likely put off suitor.
It is believed Shaw knows he will not get that same wage elsewhere and as a result he wants a settlement from the Red Devils if they are to put him up for sale.
The Red Devils are reportedly willing to pay Shaw £2million to cover his loss of earnings if he was to exit Old Trafford in January.
Both Newcastle United and Southampton are reportedly interested in signing the defender in January.
Mourinho is already making places for Shaw replacement in January with Alex Sandro, Danny Ross and Philipp Max being considered.
