Man United Have Signed “Perfect” Zlatan Replacement Claims Iconic Star

Marcus Rashford will be the perfect replacement for Zlatan Ibrahimovic at Manchester United, according to former midfielder Paul Scholes.

Ibrahimovic has been a huge success since joining from PSG on a free in the summer and has already bagged 20 goals in all competitions for the Red Devils.

The Swede’s contract expires in the summer although he is expected to remain at Old Trafford for another season, despite the fact he turns 36 next year.

Rashford, meanwhile, has seen his game time limited by Ibrahimovic’s arrival and has managed just six goals this season.

The teenager enjoyed a stunning breakthrough campaign last time out, scoring twice on his Manchester United debut in the Europa League and also on his Premier League debut against Arsenal.

The striker’s exploits even saw him called up to the England squad for Euro 2016 and while he has failed to hit the same heights this season, he remains a vital member of the squad and clearly has a big future ahead of him.

Scholes believes that Ibrahimovic will be a big influence on Rashford, such is the wealth of experience he brings with him to the club, and is backing the England international to take over from the 35-year-old when he finally leaves Old Trafford.

“It will be a great education playing with someone like that,” he told the Daily Mail.

“He [Marcus Rashford] should be watching Ibrahimovic every day in training.

“I’m sure he’s capable of taking over that role one day.”

Recent reports have claimed that Rashford is becoming frustrated with his bit-part role at United this season and is stalling on signing a new contract.

However, those claims appear to have been dismissed by the club with the teenager likely to be involved in the Europa League against St Etienne on Thursday or Sunday’s FA Cup clash against Blackburn.

Rashford is yet to score in the Europe this season but has scored twice in the FA Cup and is the club’s fourth highest scorer behind Ibrahimovic, Juan Mata, Anthony Martial and Paul Pogba.
