Manchester United have reportedly put a £25.7 million pounds price tag on midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin.
The Frenchman has found game time limited so far this season under Mourinho and has featured in just one of United’s last four league games.
The 27-year-old still has two more years to run on his current contract at Old Trafford but it is understood that Mourinho would be willing to sell the midfielder should he receive around £25 million pounds.
According to Spanish newspaper outlet Mundo Deportivo Mourinho no longer sees Schneiderlin as part of his first team plans and is to part ways with the midfielder in the January transfer window should the opportunity become available.
Schneiderlin only joined United last year under former head coach Louis Van Gaal but has since struggled to make any real impact at Old Trafford.
The arrival of Jose Mourinho to the club over the summer was always going to prove a significant moment for not only Schneiderlin but for the rest of the players too. The arrival of the former Chelsea manager to Old Trafford has shown clearly to all and sundry the players who will remain at Manchester United beyond this season and those Mourinho will actively ask the club to sell.
Now at the age of twenty seven Schneiderlin has reached that stage in his footballing career where he needs to be playing games on a regular basis and with the chances of him getting back into Mourinho’s starting eleven appearing slim, a move away from Old Trafford may be the best thing concerned for both parties.
No doubt the Frenchman is a very good player unfortunately he has other players who are better than him in Mourinho’s pecking order and a move away from Old Trafford may just be the best thing for both the club and the player. United on their part will be saving a whopping £100,000 a week while Schneiderlin will be able to move to a club where he will be played more regularly.
