Premier League giants Manchester United are currently plotting a move to secure the services of Serge Aurier, according to reports from the Daily Mirror.
Ever since being converted into a right full-back from a winger a few seasons ago, Antonio Valencia has managed to impress in his new position and the Ecuadorian is currently the first choice right-back for Manchester United at the moment.
It is clear to see that manager Jose Mourinho rates Valencia very highly but at the same time, the Portuguese boss is also said to be eyeing up potential replacements for the former Wigan Athletic star due to the fact that he is not getting any younger.
While Valencia is expected to remain at Old Trafford for the next few years, United are planning to bring in a younger right-back for the future and now according to reports from the Daily Mirror, claims have been made that the Red Devils are currently considering a swoop for PSG star Serge Aurier.
Aurier has been creating waves in the French Ligue 1 since making his debut as a teenager back in 2009 and he is currently one of the most crucial players for Paris-Saint Germain.
That said, the 23-year-old is never too far away from controversy and he has found himself in hot water for insulting former PSG manager Laurent Blanc last season as well as being handed a two month prison sentence for assaulting a police officer back in May.
As a result, Aurier’s long term future at PSG remains in doubt and the French giants could well look to part with the defender if a good offer comes along. Now according to reports from the Daily Mirror, Manchester United have expressed an interest in Aurier and a January bid of around £18 million has been touted.
Aurier certainly needs to be more disciplined off the pitch but there is no denying his talent and the young right-back could well prove to be a good signing for United.
