Manchester United Sends Emotional Message As Striker Suffers Season Ending Injury

Manchester United have wished Hull City striker Will Keane a speedy recovery on social media website Twitter following his devastating knee injury.

Keane was widely regarded as an extremely talented young player when he was at Manchester United and the striker had even managed to break into the first team back in the 2011/2012 season as a teenager.

Many thought at the time that Keane could potentially become a regular for the Red Devils in the subsequent years but unfortunately, the young man was unable to fulfill his promise at Old Trafford largely due to a host of injury problems.

With fierce competition for places at United, Keane decided to leave his boyhood club this summer by joining Hull City on a £1 million deal and the move was widely seen as a wonderful platform for the 23-year-old to show his true abilities in the Premier League.

Keane did enjoy a positive start to life at the KCOM Stadium but the injury curse struck him once again after he was forced off in the first half during Hull City’s 2-1 victory over Southampton a fortnight ago.

Now in devastating news, Hull City have gone on to reveal that Keane has suffered serious knee ligament damage and is now expected to be ruled out for at least the next 12 months.

Confirming the news, Hull boss Mike Phelan said, “Everybody at the club wishes Will well for a full recovery ahead of what is going to be a long road back to action.

“To lose a player of Will’s quality and potential for such a long period of time is a big blow. But I’m sure his determination and mind set will see him through the tough journey ahead.”

The news will also come as a bit of a disappointment for Manchester United fans who have been following Keane’s career over the years and the club have shown a lot of class by delivering an encouraging message to their former player on social media website, Twitter.

The club posted,

Keane had suffered a serious knee injury while playing for the England Under-19’s back in 2012 as well, which forced him to miss the entirety of the 2012/13 campaign and hopefully the striker will be able to make a swift recovery from his latest fitness blow.
