Deal Close – Manchester United Closing On Signing 5ft 10 Tall Defender

Manchester United are currently in negotiations over the signing of Brazilian youngster Guilherme Arana, as reported by Italian outlet TuttoMercatoWeb.

Premier League giants Manchester United lost a true stalwart during the summer of 2014 after legend Patrice Evra left for Juventus and many felt at the time that the Frenchman would leave a huge void at left-back for the Red Devils.

Filling in the shoes of Evra was most certainly going to be a very difficult task for anyone but United spared no expense whatsoever in bringing in a replacement for the veteran by splashing close to £30 million to secure the services of the highly-rated Luke Shaw.

United paying such a huge price for a teenager certainly raised a lot of eyebrows but Shaw was regarded as arguably the best young left-back in the world and the general consensus was that the large investment would pay off eventually.

Unfortunately though, Shaw has not quite managed to justify his price tag at Old Trafford over the past two seasons or so and while he has been very unlucky with injury, the 21-year-old’s future with United currently seems to be in doubt as he has clearly failed to impress manager Jose Mourinho.

As a result, Mourinho is said to be already looking at options in the transfer market to improve the left-back area for United and if reports from Italian outlet TuttoMercatoWeb are to be believed, the Red Devils’ boss is set to make a swoop for Guilherme Arana.

Arana is a highly rated Brazilian youngster who is currently plying his trade for Corinthians and it is expected that the 19-year-old will make a move to Europe in the foreseeable future.

Tottenham Hotspur were previously linked with a move for Arana but now Manchester United have ramped up their pursuit for the teenager and the club are already said to have begun talks with the player’s agent regarding a potential move.

Corinthians are currently struggling financially as well and it is believed that United could be able to sign the promising young left-back on a bargain deal.
