According to reports from the Daily Mail, Antonio Valencia has made a quicker than anticipated recovery from his broken arm and could be available for the clash against Arsenal.
There has been a lot of negativity surrounding Manchester United ahead of their encounter against Arsenal this weekend and many feel that the Gunners head into the clash as favourites due to the Red Devils’ current struggles.
United have evidently been in poor form over the past few weeks and to make matters worse, Jose Mourinho is without the services of a number of his first choice defenders in Eric Bailly, Chris Smalling and Luke Shaw, owing to injuries.
In a much needed boost though, the Daily Mail have gone on to reveal that key defender Antonio Valencia has made a quicker than anticipated recovery from his broken arm and is now in contention to feature against Arsenal this weekend.
Valencia had suffered the injury during the EFL Cup encounter against Manchester City back in October 27 and it was widely reported at the time that the Ecuadorian international could be ruled out for at least a month.
However, Valencia has managed to make a surprising progress since undergoing surgery and is now said to be ramping up his bid to return to full fitness for the blockbuster clash with rivals Arsenal at Old Trafford on Saturday.
While United’s backline has been very poor this season, one of the positives for the Red Devils has been the performances of Valencia. The 31-year-old has been solid as ever down the right hand flank and he also offers a tremendous attacking threat.
Matteo Darmian has been filling in at right-back over the past few matches and although the Italian international has put in some decent displays, fans would surely be happy to see Valencia returning to full fitness.
