Arsenal could be without up to seven first team players when they head to Old Trafford to face Manchester United on Saturday.
Santi Carzola, Per Mertesacker, Kieran Gibbs, Lucas Perez, Danny Welbeck, Hector Bellerin and Alexis Sanchez are all doubtful for the clash as the Gunners look to leapfrog Liverpool at the top of the Premier League table.
News of Arsenal’s injury woes will come as a huge boost to Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho who is set come up against Arsenal this weekend.
Mourinho’s men go into the clash sitting six points off Arsenal in the premier league table in eighth place and with games against West Ham, Everton and Tottenham Hotspur all to follow in the coming weeks it brings with it a must win game for the Portuguese should he wish to make United genuine contenders for the title this season.
Despite Arsenal’s bright start to the new campaign there have been signs in recent weeks of the clubs old bad habits creeping back into their game and with the Gunners now without several first team players it bring with it a real opportunity for United to take all three points.
For what Arsenal may have in quantity they lack ever more so in true genuine quality and with the likes of Sanchez, Bellerin and Carzola all missing there will be key areas on the field which the new United boss can exploit. They are a side who like to have time on the ball and like to play fast flowing football and in order for United to beat Arsenal Mourinho must look to get his players to attack Arsenal right from the off, not allowing them time on the ball nor allowing them space further up the field and should he manage to deny them that it will go a long way to Mouirnho leaving Old Trafford with all three points.
