“Griezmann To Manchester United A Done Deal”? Fans React To Big Griezmann News

Antione Griezmann has fuelled speculation of a move to Manchester United next summer after admitting that he would interested in playing alongside Paul Pogba in the future.

The Frenchman’s future at the Vicente Calderon has been under intense scrutiny for some time now with the likes of Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain all showing interest in the forward, however it seems as though United are at the front of the queue for his signature should he decide to leave Atletico.

The 25-year-old only recently signed a new deal at the club but in that contract a buy-out clause of 100 million euros was said to have been included that should United or any other club for that matter trigger the clause, they would be free to speak to the player directly.

Speaking to Sky Sports, Griezmann admitted that he would be interested in playing alongside Paul Pogba at Old Trafford but stated that he is happy to remain at Atletico Madrid for the time being.

His comments led to the United faithful taking to Twitter in which they called for vice executive chairman Ed Woodward to make a move for the forward.

Griezmann’s future at Atletico is said to be dependent on whether manager Argentinean coach Diego Simeone remains at the club. The pair have struck up a close relationship with one another over the years and should Simeone depart the Vicente Calderon Griezmann along with other key stars at the club may follow suite.

The Frenchman’s friendship with Paul Pogba is another key factor which could play a decisive role in United’s attempt to sign Griezmann. The pair spent the summer together representing France at Euro 2016 and have since become best friends both on and off the pitch.

Should Mourinho manage to prize Griezmann away from Atletico he would be getting a player who is about to enter his peak years as a footballer. The Portuguese wouldn’t be getting a player for the future, nor a player whose best days are behind him they would be getting a player ready for the here and now and that is exactly what Mourinho so desperately needs if he to take Manchester United back to the top.
