Long Term Zlatan Replacement? Man United Keen On Signing Highly Rated Striker

Manchester United are reportedly interesting in signing young Falkenbergs forward Jesper Karlsson. Swedish tabloid Aftonbladet report that United have been keeping a close eye on the youngster for some time now and that they are now considering making a move for Karlsson in the January transfer window.

Hakan Nilsson who is the clubs director of football refused to confirm whether United had made direct contact with the club over Karlsson but did admit that there is a possibility that the Red Devils may be interested in signing the player.

Falkenbergs are said to be desperate to keep hold of their star man but would consider selling the youngster if they receive a bid which meets their valuation for the player. The 18-year-old has enjoyed an impressive season for the Swedish scoring a total of eight goals in all competitions thus far.

Having already impressed in a struggling Falkenberg side this season Karlssson has shown that he is a player who has a massive future ahead of him. Despite his side currently sitting rock bottom of the Allsvenskan league table Karlsson has remained the clubs shining light and has shown exactly why a club like Manchester United are showing interest.

Karlsson’s excellent finishing combined with his ability to glide past his opponents with ease makes him a real talent and one which would undoubtedly be worth taking a gamble on.

At just eighteen years of age Karlsson stands as one of the most exciting young prospects in European football and with the likes of Marcus Rashford, Timothy Fosu-Mensah and Axel Tuanzebe already on board the Swede would join a list of players who could potentially go on and become key members of the Manchester United squad in the future.

In making the switch to Old Trafford it would provide the youngster an opportunity to play alongside and learn from some of the very best. He would get the chance to not only develop his game but get the chance to develop as a man also.
