Man United To Make £165,000/Week Contract Offer To Powerful CB

Manchester United are prepared to double Real Madrid defender Raphael Varane’s wages in an effort to persuade the Frenchman to join the club.

United are reportedly willing to offer Varane a whopping £165,000 a week to join the club, however with Madrid appearing to be wanting to keep hold of their star man a deal at this stage appears unlikely.

Real Madrid rate Varane very highly and are said to be not willing to sell the centre-back at any price especially this late in the transfer window.

With Sergio Ramos and Pepe heading towards the end of their footballing careers, the la liga side see Varane as the club’s first choice centre-back in years to come and are desperate not to lose their star man especially to Manchester United.

The 23-year-old has been linked with a move to the theatre of dreams all summer long with Mourinho said to be a long term admirer of the Frenchman.

The reds have enjoyed a successful transfer market this summer thus far bringing in the likes of Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Paul Pogba, Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Eric Bailly and in signing Raphael Varane he would complete the Portuguese’s Old Trafford jigsaw.

It’s no secret that Mourinho has been on the lookout for a new centre back in recent weeks and in Varane, Mourinho sees the centre-back as an ideal fix to his current defensive problems.

United may be strong in numbers in central defence but for what they have in numbers they lack more so in quality. Smalling has the makings of a very good defender, as does new club signing Eric Bailly but neither nor the rest in Blind, Jones or Rojo have the true genuine world class quality of Raphael Varane.

At just twenty three years of age Varane has already shown that he has the potential to go on and become one of the world’s best central defenders. United would be getting a player who has his best days ahead of him and making a move right now could prove to be a significant difference in how Manchester United’s season pans out.

Mourinho will know all too well that his new look side have the potential to make a real charge for the Premier League Title he just needs one more new face through the door and should he persuade Varane to join then it would surely make Manchester United favourites for the league title.
