Manchester United and Liverpool are said to be in competition with each other over the signing of Germio forward Luan Vieira.
Both clubs have already held talks with the player, with Germio reportedly willing to sell the star should the right offer come in.
Luan has an €80 release clause in his contract, but with clubs unlikely to pay such a high fee it is a thought an offer in the region of €45 million or £39m should be enough to tempt the Brazilian side into selling this summer.
However both United and Liverpool may face a tough battle for the Brazilians signature as the likes of Juventus have also reportedly shown keen interest in landing the player.
He is currently on International duty representing his home nation Brazil at the Rio Olympics and has thus far scored three goals and provided two assists.
The 23-year-old is a winger by trade, but is also highly capable of playing in a more advanced role as a number nine.
Should United tempt Luan to Old Trafford they would be getting a player with bags of potential who could potentially go on to become a real star. With Luan been able to play both as a winger and as an out and out front man he could offer plenty of versatility to the Manchester United side.
Having an eye for goal is just of many trades that the Brazilian has in his locker. Used both on the flanks and up front, Luan could offer plenty of goals and assists for Mourinho’s men as the club bid to win back the Premier League title for the first time since 2013.
He may not necessarily be used a starter week in week out by the Portuguese, but he still could be a real asset for United this season. With Mourinho likely to be changing up his squad for the four competitions the club are involved in this season, it would give Luan a real chance to showcase his talent to the Manchester United faithful. He would get opportunities and it would then be down to the Brazilian to take them.
Whether Luan does indeed move to Manchester United this summer remains to be seen, however one thing is for sure with the end of the summer transfer window looming, we can expect at least one new face to arrive through the Old Trafford entrance door before the summer is out, and whether that new face is Luan Vieira, well we will just have to wait and find out.
