Manchester United’s Argentinian defender Marcos Rojo hasn’t been caught off guard by the impressive performances that the club’s young players have offered this season. The likes of Guillermo Varela, Cameron Borthwick-Jackson and Jesse Lingard, all part of the club’s youth set-up have enjoyed extended runs in the first team this term, with Marcus Rashford and Timothy Fosu-Mensah the latest to impress with a string of confident and encouraging displays.
The former Sporting Lisbon player is keen to stress that he and his team mates were already aware of the talents they possess, telling MUTV: “It might have come as a surprise to everyone else, but certainly not us. It is not a surprise for us because they have been training with us for a while so we had seen what they could do.
“Tim as a great maturity and copes really well under pressure, while Marcus has been vital for us and has brought us some important goals that came in fantastic wins for us. They’ve been showing their qualities for the first team in important matches.”
