Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal is unsure if Ander Herrera will be able to feature for the club on Saturday afternoon. The Spanish midfielder sustained an injury in the second half of United’s 1-2 victory over West Ham in midweek, and was notably carried from the pitch by an impatient Mark Noble.
Speaking at his Friday morning press conference, Van Gaal stated: “At this moment, I don’t know (if he’ll be available to play), as the diagnosis is still yet to come. It is better to do that after two days, so I haven’t heard about him yet. It is not so heavy we think, but we have to wait and see.”
Herrera has experienced another stop-start season at United under Van Gaal and had only just returned to the side from injury, yet should he return to fitness before the season ends, he should improve on the 31 appearances he made last season.
