Manchester United have been drawn away to Derby County in the fourth round of the FA Cup.
Having narrowly edged past Sheffield United in the previous round, Louis Van Gaal will be hoping for a much more accomplished performance this time round.
Derby, currently managed by Paul Clement are currently sitting 2nd in the championship and last met Manchester United seven years ago in a fifth round encounter, which seen the reds run out 4-1 winners thanks to goals from Cristiano Ronaldo, Nani, Darren Gibson and Danny Welbeck.
Despite boasting a mighty impressive haul of 11 FA Cups, United remarkably haven’t won the FA Cup in almost 12 years since beating Millwall 3-0 back in Cardiff.
With the chances of winning the Premier League title looking somewhat unlikely an with the club now out of the UEFA Champions league, the FA Cup could be seen as Louis Van Gaal’s best opportunity to deliver a trophy this season.
Other notable games from the draw will see the holders Arsenal take on Burnley whilst Manchester City will face either Wycombe Wanderers or Aston Villa with all fixtures set to be played during January 29th and February 1st.
